I knew that I wanted to be an artist since the age of five when I colored a pair of Ruby Slippers onto the feet of my “self portrait” and discovered the magic of art!
My studies in graphic design at the Maryland Institute College of Art were the foundation for my vibrant wildlife images. I start each new portrait with the animals’ eyes, the windows to their soul. It all becomes very personal for me after that, as I feel that I am visiting with a friend during the long and detailed painting process.
I have exhibited and sold my paintings nationally, and have illustrated thirteen children’s books all with nature themes. In 2012 my husband and I settled in wonderful Austin, where I am now focusing my subjects to Texas wildlife.
